6 Powerful Ways to Elevate Your State

What up homies!? Today it’s been 8 years since my Dad passed away. Trying to heal from that heartbreaking experience has been a long ongoing journey, but I’m happy to report that I’ve been making a lot of progress. I’ve had several breakthroughs, or pivotal points, that continue to help me evolve, move forward, and come to terms with everything that my family and I went through. Sometimes these transformations occurred instantaneously, and sometimes they were drawn out over time. Unfortunately we all have to deal with pain and loss sooner or later.   I’ve decided to share some of the experiences and resources that have had a major positive impact on my life with y’all, I hope you discover something useful.  Happy Holidays!

We touch the lessons of the east direction every time we encounter a point of clarity, illumination, and new beginnings. The big AH HA that occurs when we see through some illusion or discover some new data that brings our former chaos, indecision, or confusion into clarity is the essence of the east.” – Jamie Sams

1. Music

Right before my dad died I got myself into a bunch of trouble. After some not so legal entrepreneurial activities, I was arrested, evicted, and suspended from college. In my eyes he died thinking I was a failure, and I was very hard on myself. I was consumed by grief and guilt, constantly reminding myself of all of my sorrows and shortcomings.
I experienced one of my first breakthroughs a few months after he passed away. I went to a music festival, and throughout the weekend I was able to get lost in the music long enough to escape the dense negativity I had been carrying around with me. I was immediately aware of the transformation when it happened. I had let my guard down and let happiness take over for a minute.
I became aware of the fact that it was my choice to do so, and that I had control over my own emotions. From that moment on I stopped focusing on negativity and started to let joy and happiness seep back into my life. Music has always been a big source of inspiration, healing, and joy for me.

Ways Music Has Impacted Me

  • Live music can be very moving and enthralling. When you find the kind of music that strikes your cord deep down inside, you can be completely taken over by the rhythm and melody.
  • Getting Lost in the music can help you temporarily escape the constant chatterbox in your head, and be fully present in the moment.

  • Listening to good music helps me create and visualize ideas and dreams.

  • I’ve traveled far and wide as a result of my unquenchable thirst for live music.
  • I’ve met so many amazing people at shows and festivals who become best friends and travel companions.

Resources For Music

  • In the genre of music that I like, there is a huge culture of like – minded people who are progressive thinkers, creating sustainable communities and spreading positivity world-wide.   These are a few festivals I’ve attended, that are making a huge  global impact.

2. Traveling / Living Abroad

When we see how others are far often in worse situations than our own, and we see how we can help, we view our personal problems from a whole new perspective. The world may not change but our perception of it and how we experience it will be radically altered. – Jamie Sams

When I started traveling abroad to other countries I become extremely grateful and aware of how fortunate I was. There are so many people who have nothing, and who struggle throughout their whole lives just to survive. When I saw this level of poverty I stopped complaining about my own petty woes, and started appreciating the opportunities, gifts, and advantages in life I had been given.

Ways Traveling Has Impacted Me

“Over time, by experiencing new things, we embrace a type of human sharing that gives us a panoramic view of our humanity and allows us to see ourselves as universal, planetary citizens.”  -Jamie Sams

  • Going outside of your comfort zone will enable you to have unique experiences that will help you gain more  wisdom and personal growth, as you continue to evolve towards a higher consciousness.
  • For the first 18 years of my life I had a very sheltered existence and narrow perspective of what life outside of my bubble was like.
  • In America there always seemed to be so much pressure to choose the same path as everyone else, go to school, work a 9 – 5 office job, get married, have kids, etc.
  • When I started to travel outside of the US I was exposed to new concepts, cultures, and ways of living.
  • Everywhere I went there were different ideas about how to dress, how to dance, how to cook, how families and people interacted with one another.
  • I met people from all over the world who blazed their own trails.
  • I met people who had gone through far worse ordeals than I had, and I stopped feeling sorry for myself, and started to feel grateful.
  • After seeing so many different ways to live, I stopped feeling pressured to settle down, get a real job, and live out the “American Dream.”

3. Working on a Yacht

It’s very fulfilling when you witness the evolution of an idea or thought coming into manifestation. My experience getting a job on a yacht, combined with other past accomplishments, affirmed to me what can be achieved if you set a goal and work towards it. We really are the creators of our own reality, anything is possible.

Ways Working on a Yacht Has Impacted Me

  • When I started out in the yachting industry I was absolutely clueless about anything and everything having to do with life on the water.
  • Over time, I witnessed my own progression as I developed a whole new world of skills and knowledge of the nautical world.
  • Succeeding in this gave me confidence and encouragement for future endeavors.

  • I realized I could easily get by comfortably with minimal material items and space.

The thought of giving up your former way of living can be intimidating, but once you actually get out there and do it, you find that it’s really not that hard.

  • I transitioned from a spacious house with my own room, privacy, and no rules, to a tiny crew quarters, a shared cabin, and a very disciplined work schedule.
  • I learned how to deal with a variety of different personalities living together in close quarters.
  • I had no control over my circumstances.  I stopped planning, anticipating, and learned to go with the flow.
  • I no longer had the distractions I was so accustomed to here in the US – internet service, cell phones, social media,  etc.  I wasn’t busy making plans with friends, or making decisions about what activities I would do that day, or what to cook that night.  Instead I was able to be more mindful and focus on the present moment.

  • While working on the yacht I began listening to audiobooks, podcasts, and other audio content that enabled me to explore so many new concepts and ideas about reality,  spirituality, enlightenment, nutrition, and lifestyle design.
  •  I’ve integrated these new concepts into my life which has resulted in a huge transformation.

4. Books, Audiobooks, Podcasts, and Youtube

Podcasts I listen to

As a deckhand on a yacht, you often times have to do tasks that are very mundane and time consuming. Out of desperation and boredom, I discovered audiobooks, and podcasts.I began listening to them religiously.
It was too difficult to follow along with novels while trying to multi-task so I selected educational, and informational content. I learned so much amazing life altering ideas while waxing and polishing, it was awesome.

Ways Audiobooks, Podcasts, and Youtube Have Impacted Me

  • Each new topic I explored sent me on a new journey that led to many discoveries.
  • Below are several resources and suggestions for content that had a big impact on me.

  • I listened to several stations that featured business, entrepreneurial, and lifestyle design content.
  • A lot of them were packed with extremely useful information and resources for starting your own online business.
  • By sharing ideas and experiences with each other the entire world benefits and continues to evolve at a quicker rate.
  • I realized what a big impact these people were making, and how expansive their networks were which has inspired me to give it a try.

Resources For Audiobooks, Podcasts, and Youtube

  1.  “A New Earth

Book Description:  With his bestselling spiritual guide The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle inspired millions of readers to discover the freedom and joy of a life lived “in the now.” In A New Earth, Tolle expands on these powerful ideas to show how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. Tolle describes how our attachment to the ego creates the dysfunction that leads to anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, and shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and follow the path to a truly fulfilling existence.

2. “Dancing the Dream

Book Description: Find your sacred path. Widely recognized as one of the foremost teachers of Native American wisdom, Jamie Sams reveals the seven sacred paths of human spiritual development and explains how exploring each path leads to shifts in our personal relationships with the earth, our loved ones, friends and communities, and most important, our own spiritual selves. As part of a profound awakening process, these paths help us heal the past, shed fear of the future, and focus on being aware and fully present in our daily lives.

3.  “4 Hour Work Week

Book Description:  Forget the old concept of retirement and the rest of the deferred-life plan–there is no need to wait and every reason not to, especially in unpredictable economic times. Whether your dream is escaping the rat race, experiencing high-end world travel, earning a monthly five-figure income with zero management, or just living more and working less, The 4-Hour Workweek is the blueprint.

4.  “Bullet Proof Diet

Book Description: In his midtwenties, Dave Asprey was a successful Silicon Valley multimillionaire. He also weighed 300 pounds, despite the fact that he was doing what doctors recommended: eating 1,800 calories a day and working out 90 minutes a day, six times a week.
When his excess fat started causing brain fog and food cravings sapped his energy and willpower, Asprey turned to the same hacking techniques that made his fortune to “hack” his own biology, investing more than $300,000 and 15 years to uncover what was hindering his energy, performance, appearance, and happiness. From private brain EEG facilities to remote monasteries in Tibet, through radioactive brain scans, blood chemistry work, nervous system testing, and more, he explored traditional and alternative technologies to reach his physical and mental prime. The result? The Bulletproof Diet, an anti-inflammatory program for hunger-free, rapid weight loss and peak performance.
The Bulletproof Diet will challenge―and change―the way you think about weight loss and wellness. You will skip breakfast, stop counting calories, eat high levels of healthy saturated fat, work out and sleep less, and add smart supplements.
In doing so, you’ll gain energy, build lean muscle, and watch the pounds melt off. By ditching traditional “diet” thinking, Asprey went from being overweight and sick in his twenties to maintaining a 100-pound weight loss, increasing his IQ, and feeling better than ever in his forties. The Bulletproof Diet is your blueprint to a better life.

  1. Spirit Science
    • Spirit Science is the animated series that started it all. The show follows Patchman, a little multidimensional patch-doll who takes you on a journey into the unknown and begins a long discussion about what it means to be Spiritual.Thoughts, Chakras, Sacred-Geometry, Astral Travel, and even Atlantis, through Spirit Science we look at all of these topics. Most people don’t realize that there is a very powerful connection between Spirituality and Science. All of our modern scientific fields are slowly but surely coming full circle in understanding a very cosmic connection between all things.
    • All of the atoms, particles, plants, animals, humans, and galaxies, all function under very similar patterns and principles of existence. Through the understanding of these patterns, we can grow in awareness of who we really are, and where our place is in the cosmos.
  2. Awaken The World Film
    • There is one vibratory field that connects all things. It has been called Akasha, Logos, the primordial OM, the music of the spheres, the Higgs field, dark energy, and a thousand other names throughout history. The ancient teachers taught Nada Brahma, the universe is vibration. The vibratory field is at the root of all true spiritual experience and scientific investigation. It is the same field of energy that saints, Buddhas, yogis, mystics, priests, shamans and seers have observed by looking within themselves. In today’s society, most of humanity has forgotten this ancient wisdom. We have strayed too far into the realm of thinking; what we perceive to be the outer world of form. We have lost our connection to our inner worlds. This balance, what the Buddha called the middle way, what Aristotle called the golden mean, is the birthright of every human being. It is the common link between all religions, and the link between our inner worlds and our outer worlds.
  3. Sacred Knowledge
    • “The Ancients” knew much more than given credit for regarding Life, The Universe, Astronomy, Advanced Mathematics, Magnetism, Healing, Unseen Forces etc.
Encoded knowledge is information that is conveyed in signs and symbols and we can find this knowledge all over the world. All these ancient sightings and geometric patterns (Sacred Geometry) symbolise unseen forces at work. We are being lied to by the media. Modern archaeologists don’t know what they’re talking about. “The Ancients” were not stupid or primitive. We just failed to de-code this knowledge conveyed in signs, symbols and ancient artwork. This kind of information is kept hidden from the public.
  4. Thrive: What On Earth Will It Take?
    • THRIVE is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what’s REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream — uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future.

Exploration of Natural Alternatives

Thanks to all of those audiobooks and podcasts, I learned a LOT about nutrition, lifestyle, and global awareness. As I become more and more aware of all of the toxic ingredients that are present in so much of our food, medicine, and personal health care products, I have made a huge effort to make the right choices and select only the best quality natural brands and products so that I can be as healthy and productive as possible.

5. Natural Alternatives:

Resources For Natural Alternatives

    • We empower ingredient – conscious consumers to choose the safest beauty + personal care products. Think Dirty® app is the easiest way to learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products. 2. Project CBD
    • Cannabidiol—CBD—is a cannabis compound that has significant medical benefits, but does not make people feel “stoned” and can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC. The fact that CBD-rich cannabis is non-psychoactive or less psychoactive than THC-dominant strains makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government—underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD,depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere.Project CBD responds to inquiries from all over the world. Almost everyone wants to know where to get CBD-rich products and how to use them for maximum benefit. After decades in which only high-THC cannabis was available in North America and beyond, CBD-rich strains and products are now available to medical users.
  3. Weston A. Price Foundation
    • The Foundation’s quarterly journal, Wise Traditions in Food, Farming, and the Healing Arts, is dedicated to exploring the scientific validation of dietary, agricultural and medical traditions throughout the world. It features illuminating and thought-provoking articles on current scientific research; human diets; non-toxic agriculture; and holistic therapies. The journal also serves as a reference for sources of foods that have been conscientiously grown and processed. – See more at: http://www.westonaprice.org/about-the-foundation/about-the-foundation/#sthash.OgXCUMKI.dpuf
  4. The BulletProof Roadmap
    • The Bulletproof Diet tells you the right amount of food and the right type of food to eat – plus when to eat it and how to cook it. The Bulletproof Diet is based on high amounts of healthy fats, moderate amounts of high quality protein, and tons of organic vegetables eaten at the right time in order to create unbelievable levels of energy and weight loss. The Bulletproof Diet Roadmap teaches you how to choose foods that provide the most energy and the most vitamins, yet contain the least amount of performance-robbing, inflammation-causing anti-nutrients and toxins.  Because when our brains work better, we’re all nicer to each other. By avoiding foods that make you weak and eating well, it really does make the world a nicer place.

6. Ayahuasca and Other Ancient Beliefs and Traditions

Let me begin by stating that I do not recommend doing any of these without first doing extensive research, and ensuring that you are in a safe controlled environment. I’m not encouraging you to do anything, just sharing my own personal experience with them, because they have played a huge role in my personal growth and well-being.
I’ve always been very curious, and open to experimenting with hallucinogens and psychedelics. However, the most prolific experience I’ve had so far is without a doubt the Ayahuasca Ceremonies I participated in down in the Amazonian Rainforest. I will be sharing a lot more details about this in the future, but in the meantime here are some resources so that you can do your own research.

Healing Path
Teach me how to gather,
The fragments of my soul,
Reclaiming Lost Potential,
I seek to become Whole.

Let me find forgiveness,
Embracing a new way to be,
Releasing the hurt and anger
Toward all who wounded me.

Let me heal my human body
The sacred vessel of my soul,
Mending all of the unhealed aspects,
I find within my medicine bowl.

Let me find the courage
To face the enemies within,
Healing all my weaknesses,
Honoring the warrior therein.

Let me honor my sacred promise,
To be loyal to my healing quest,
Never deserting my medicine,
Nor the heart within my breast.
